WOW..... 

QL Eagles soared to a nice victory (303-184) in our first home meet vs. the Powhatan Secondary Seastars. Eagles are looking fast! Thank you to all the parent crews and volunteers that made the first home meet such a success. 

This week we have some more summer swim fun coming our way. Here is your weekly update!

DETAILS for Monday’s AWAY swim meet:

Who: Queens Lake Eagles vs. Kingspoint Dolphins

Where: Kingspoint Pool

119 Northpoint Dr. Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA — Directions

Arrival Time: 4:45 pm / warm up for QL Eagles will be 5:30

Parking: There is parking located on the street in front of the pool. There is also a gravel area where there is additional parking as well as a grass lot. We will have a parking attendant there before the meet starts to help direct swimmers and their families.

Concessions: Concessions are available and they will have a Square payment option for credit cards, although they encourage and appreciate cash.

Items swimmers need to bring: Swimsuit or jammers, goggles (extra pair if you have them), dry towel for each event, healthy snacks, water bottle/ gatorade, warm clothing (wet swimmers can get chilly when the sun goes down), maybe a few fun card games or blanket games. Coach Sandi has asked for no running or playing with balls and swimmers are not allowed on the playground area. All swimmers are requested to stay in the team area so they can be easily found for their events and cheer on their teammates.

Volunteering: Thank you, thank you, thank you! 

QL Parents are stepping into new roles and even picking up double shifts! Thank you for filling up spots because when spots are filled, it helps our meet coordinator to complete name tag assignments. At least 1 parent from each family is requested to volunteer at the meet. When you arrive, be sure to check in with our Meet Volunteer Coordinator, who will confirm your assignment and give you a name tag. Thanks again QL parents for all the help!!!! Weather Watch: Weather is always being monitored and meet directors will keep the safety of swimmers as a priority.

QL EAGLE Swim Caps and Spirit Store:

The team swim caps have arrived! We will be handing them out to all swimmers tomorrow before the meet. Stephanie Cleary will have a "traveling spirit store" at the meet, cards and cash accepted.  QL car magnets are still available for $5.00. (T-shirts have all sold out!)

New this year is the addition of silicone caps for purchase. Silicone caps are designed to be wrinkle-free, which allows for a smooth surface and least amount of drag. They are also more strong and durable than the latex caps. Pricing for the caps are $15 each or  two caps for $25.

SUMMER AWARDS: Save the Date

Mark your calendars! QL is hosting the Summer Awards Meet this year  JULY 27, 2024!Summer if the final meet for swimmers to qualify for the Champs meet. Please sign up to help welcoming our neighboring pools! This meet will need "All Hands on Deck."
