Going to try and keep this one short and sweet. Here is your Eagles Nest Update and a look at the week ahead.

DETAILS for Monday’s AWAY swim meet:

Who: Queens Lake Eagles vs. Edgehill Eels

Where: Edgehill Pool: 700 Cockletown Road Yorktown, VA 23692 - DIRECTIONS

Arrival Time: 4:45 pm / warm up for QL Eagles will be 5:30

Parking: No specific information about parking. QL Eagles can set up on the diving board side of the pool to the right of the baby pool. The sun goes down within an hour or two of being there, tents welcome.

Concessions: CASH ONLY. Also, for the meet we'll be partnering with Clearwater to hold a food drive benefiting the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank. If you can please bring any donations to help, flyer attached.

Items swimmers need to bring: Swimsuit or jammers, goggles (extra pair if you have them), dry towel for each event, healthy snacks, water bottle/ gatorade, warm clothing (wet swimmers can get chilly when the sun goes down), maybe a few fun card games or blanket games. Coach Sandi has asked for no running or playing with balls and swimmers are not allowed on the playground area. All swimmers are requested to stay in the team area so they can be easily found for their events and cheer on their teammates.

Volunteering: We almost have the whole meet covered for volunteers!!!!! Only 2 slots left..............one ribbon writer and one scoring position! When you arrive, be sure to check in with our Meet Volunteer Coordinator, who will confirm your assignment and give you a name tag. Thanks again QL parents for all the help!!!! Weather Watch: Weather is always being monitored and meet directors will keep the safety of swimmers as a priority.

SUMMER AWARDS:

Summer Awards meet is the final meet for any swimmers from the peninsula that have not made a "Champs time" to try and qualify. What are the qualifying times that are needed to swim in the Champs meet? Find them here: CHAMPS TIMES.

QL is the host of the Summer Awards Meet this year, Saturday, JULY 27, 2024! This is a great opportunity for Queens Lake because it is revenue for the swim team but will require a lot of hands helping out! Meet entries for Summer Awards are due July 23rd, so please RSVP your simmers and please sign up to help host all the neighboring pools. MEET SIGN UP.

SWIM-A-THON 2024 and Pancake Breakfast Tuesday July 16th!

The swim-a-thon is Tuesday July 16th! Please be sure you pick up your family packet from the lifeguard table if you have not done so already. (Pledge forms also attached below.) Pledges can be collected through the end of the season and will be due by the end of the season banquet.  It will be a fun day of music, swimming, pancake breakfast and prizes! Collect your donations from family and friends and make a payment by check or use our donation link, DONATE HERE.
