One week left of the 2024 summer swim season!

SUMMER AWARDS RECAP AND THANK YOU:

QL Eagles hosted the summer awards Swim Meet with incredible style! Awesome hospitality from QL families welcoming the VPSU teams from around the peninsula. We had incredible volunteers jumping into action even at the last minute to help smooth bumps in the road. Special thanks to all our volunteers who showcased Queens Lake to the community at this meet, but especially our concessions crew who did an amazing job; Kristie for jumping into lineup and keeping the meet going; all our officials, timers, and scoring team; our announcers, David and Branch; and the incredible setup team who even mowed the field and made parking easy. We had neighbors step in and fill the gaps who don't even have swimmers. Thank you for modeling what community and neighborliness is to our children!  Also, to our dear coaches, you are always encouraging the best from our swimmers with a gentle hug and smile! Thank you!

"But how did the Eagles do?", you ask?

Check this out:

• Queens Lake finished 3rd out of 18 teams with 935 points! Wooohoo!
• 276 swimmers in the AM session, 155 swimmers in PM session!
• 8 QL swimmers winning their heat and 4 relays taking 1st.
• We had 66 swimmers qualify for the Champs Meet in 181 events.
• 55 swimmers will be representing the QL Eagles at the Champs Meet on Saturday!

PRACTICE FOR CHAMPS SWIMMERS:

All swimmers headed to Champs will practice this week from 9:00 am-10:00 am

*Please note: Practice this week is only for those swimming in the Champs Meet. A Pasta lunch will served on Friday after practice. Please consider helping with a donation to send our swimmers off with a carb loaded lunch. SIGNUP HERE. A separate email with Champs details will be sent later in the week. 

If you have qualifying times and plan on swimming in the CHAMPS meet this Saturday then please RSVP for the meet ASAP HERE! 

AWARDS BANQUET:

We will close out our season with our QL Awards banquet this Sunday, August 4th. All families are invited to attend and ALL swimmers receive certificates and awards. Please RSVP via the team website by Monday, July 29th at NOON. A count is needed for the main dish (fried chicken). Families are asked to bring a dessert (Last name A-M) or side dish (Last name N-Z) to share. Banquet Signup!

FINISHING THE SWIM-A-THON:

Each swimmer was asked to raise $25 and donations are due by the End of Season Banquet on August 4th. Emily Edmonds, Swim-A-Thon Chair, will be collecting forms and money can be turned into her this week. Donations can still be collected through our online link between now and Friday, August 2nd. Prizes will be awarded at the End of Season Banquet. You can make your DONATIONS HERE.

Wishing speed to our Eagles headed to Champs! We are really looking forward to celebrating all of our swimmers at the Awards Banquet on Sunday. This season we have seen new and old Eagles achieve their own personal record times and even Hatchlings swim their first length of the pool. Eagles have soared to some awesome new heights and we are so proud of all of you!
