There are upcoming leadership opportunities in VPSU, as term limits have been reached. These positions need to be filled before the 2025 summer swim season, and the terms are one year according to the VPSU bylaws. (If you choose to serve the term will end October of 2025.) New faces provide a chance for fresh perspectives and new energy to help guide the organization forward.

Term limits are crucial to maintaining the health and vitality of our league. They encourage leadership renewal, support diversity, prevent burnout, and ensure fair governance practices. This is your opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact!

Descriptions of the roles and their responsibilities are outlined in the VPSU bylaws and can be found below and on the website:

President - Open

• Calls and presides over meetings of the VPSU Representatives.
• Appoints committees to ensure all league functions are completed.
• Communicates league activities to team representatives.
• Serves as the official spokesperson for the League.
• Is an ex-officio member of the Rules Committee.
• Holds ultimate responsibility for the administration of League functions.

Vice President - Open

• Assumes the President’s duties in their absence.
• Leads league training programs for board members, meet directors, and other officials.
• Serves as the Officials Chairman for the Championship Meet and other League-wide events.
• Takes on additional duties as assigned by the President or Executive Committee.

Secretary - Filled

• Maintains League records, including meeting minutes and rosters.
• Distributes meeting notices and agendas.
• Manages all necessary correspondence.
• Assumes additional duties as directed by the President or Executive Committee.

Treasurer - Open

• Prepares the annual budget with the Executive Committee.
• Collects dues and team fees, and handles League funds.
• Prepares supply orders, manages distribution, and coordinates with teams.
• Presents financial statements at meetings and ensures proper IRS reporting.

Rules Chairman - Open

• Leads the Rules Committee and ensures its effective operation.
• Keeps an up-to-date copy of the VPSU Competitive Rules available to members.
• Organizes training programs for officials, meet directors, and coaches.
• Works with the Board to suggest rule changes and resolve issues between meetings.
